Our fantastic team this year had three challenging games. Our first was against Killeen National School. our first half was a close tie. Our team worked exceptionally hard in the second half but unfortunately Killeen had the edge and scored some superb goals to give them the win. Our second game was against Arles. Our teamwork and passing was terrific and our Goalie made some incredible saves in the first half. With a hill and a skillful Arles team to contend with in the second half, Arles drove ahead giving them the win. We were very proud of our performance and both teams show great sportsmanship. Our final game was against a strong Barrow House team. We put our energy in the first half into making great plays and passing confidently. Our backs played out of their skins and set the tone for a great game. Our midfielders worked tirelessly in the second half. We lost to a strong team but enjoyed every minute if the game and left nothing on the pitch. Well done to all our players and thank you to all our parents for their support and help transporting the children to the games. Cnocán na Mac Tíre abú !!!

Our School Tour 2022
Last Friday the 24th, we visited Dublin Zoo along with The Swan National School. We took a bus to the Capital that morning and luckily we avoided the rain. The children had a wonderful day . We had picnics, experienced a wonderful workshop on the African Plains, explored the zoo's continents and enjoyed the many fantastic parks and viewpoints.
This Month, we have been enjoying a special treat of visiting our local outdoor, heated swimming pool in Ballinakill. The children are soaking up all the sunshine and splashing into Summer with great excitement. Thank you to the wonderful lifeguards who keep us safe during our sessions.
Comhghairdeas to our pupils who completed the couch to 2k challenge Thursday the 9th of June in connection with Laois Sports Partnership. All our pupils completed the challenge in superb time and had a great time together. All our training paid off in the end !
We started back at rugby training this week with Tadhg. Tag rugby focuses on learning skills without the physical elements of rugby. It was great to get out in the sunshine and get our heart rates pumping.
Our Blast Artist Annie Holland visited us for three amazing sessions and thought us how to use clay, printing and making our very own ceramic tiles for our school garden display. She was an incredible inspiration to the children and took the time to speak to us about the importance of taking care of our environment. We also recorded a rap that we wrote. We all created our very own planet protector characters and received badges that we now have displayed in our school corridor. Thank you Annie. We had a blast !!!
